Valentine’s Day Slay | What Maya Wears

FINALLY it’s February, after the 74 days of Jan… and we know what that means! It’s time to get your slay on for Valentine’s, or Galentine’s, Day! Luckily, our girl Maya is here to sort you out, so there’ll be no last-minute OMG I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR moment. Check out her blog post for us here or keep reading!

Valentine’s Day Slay with What Maya Wears

So it’s officially February and what does that mean? Pancake Day!!! Valentines Day is almost upon us.

Whilst people can be cynical about Valentines day and its commercial agenda, it’s also a chance to show your appreciation for someone special and at the same time, wear a outfit that slays whilst you do so. So if you’re wondering what to do for Valentines/Galentines night ( because it’s 2018 and going for drinks is boring and you can do that any Saturday of the year)…then look no further. And if you’re wondering what to wear on a hot date,  Slay Girl Fashion UK and myself are at your service to bring you plenty of ideas in the form of my favourite pieces from the Slay Girl Fashion UK website.

If you haven’t heard of Slay Girl Fashion UK, they were established in 2016 and bring the hottest styles, inspired by bloggers and celebrities at affordable prices (And if they weren’t affordable enough, if you read on, I have a discount code!). The thing I love about Slay Girl is that they put out a positive message to empower all women and encourage self-love and inclusivity.

So let’s get into it…

Date #1

Take an exercise class together. Hot Yoga is a good shout –  this steamy form of exercise performed in a hot studio (surprisingly enough) that is heated to 40 C not only aids flexibility but the added heat also promotes blood flow AND it gives you a chance to show off that great workout kit. There are some great workout sessions in Central London including Sunrise Yoga at Sky Garden. If that’s not up your street, spots like woods, meadows and river paths are perfect for a romantic stroll.

Outfit #1
If you opt for a romantic stroll, a big coat is necessary. One of my favourites at the moment is the ‘teddy bear’ which I feel like is all over Instagram at the moment and I don’t want to jump onto a trend bandwagon but it looks cosy as! Pair with ripped jeans and Ankle Boots for the effortless chic look!
Date #2
And after you push yourself through the above fitness class, you deserve a treat so why not go for a couples massage? Intimate doesn’t quite cover the experience.  If you’re after a relaxed V-day but strapped for cash, a spa experience can easily be recreated  at home. Candles, rose petals, massage oils, champagne and you’ve got the ultimate spa experience without leaving your own house.
Date #3
Go dancing….Dance skills of a professional dancer on Strictly Come Dancing are not needed, but private dance lessons for Tango, Ballroom or Salsa are a massive step outside most peoples comfort zone.
Outfit #3
I need these trousers in my life! I’m loving stripes at the moment and these button down trousers are simply gorgeous. Pair with a black bodysuit for a night look or a white shirt in the day.
Date #4
Grab your passport and book a short city break away. V-day falls on a Wednesday which isn’t helpful  but there are plenty of options i.e. a couple’s spa retreat or AirBnB to do over the weekend to make up for that.

Outfit #4

Travel checklist – A coloured jacket. Slay Girl’s take on the infamous Zara coloured faux leather jacket (£38) looks just like the original. Get your hands on it here.
Date #5
Create a treasurer hunt. Ever seen the movie ‘Gone Girl’ with Rosamund Pike & Ben Affleck? The extremely messed up film based around Amy’s ‘staged’ disappearance features a annual anniversary scavenger hunt the couple partake in every year. Somewhat cute amongst all the other madness.
Everyone wants to solve a mystery—especially when it involves romance. Start the hunt off with a text message with a simple instruction/clue or riddle  and then when your partner arrives at the first destination hit them with the second clue and so on. End the scavenger hunt at a restaurant, because all great things end with food right? The longer you’ve known your special someone the better as it can get real sentimental but still everyone loves a good game.
Outfit #5
I love a comfy outfit so pairing a jumper with jeans or a skirt is one of my most worn combos. Slay Girl fashion certainly do not have a limited supply of cute jumpers.

My two favourites are the Melanie Pearl Sweater, £28 (which I wore in my most recent Outfit of the Day here) and Lyndsey Ruffle jumper, £26 (because i’ll never get over a ruffled sleeve).

Date #6
Pack an indoor picnic. Because lets be honest, the Great British Weather will never allow you to do this outdoors in February. And if you can’t cook, preparing spread of easy-to-eat foods like cheeses, bread, cured meats is hardly Michelin star effort.

Outfit #6
For effortless and stylish the Cute AF T-shirt paired with Saoirse Casual Trousers is the perfect combination for a sassy and cute AF outfit (as the T-shirt says).

The Trousers
Date #7
Even though I said going for ‘drinks’ is basic, take it up a notch and learn how to make the drinks yourself. Cocktail making allows you to experience new tastes together, discuss what you enjoy and also gives you all the skills to replicate them on girls night.
Outfit #7
Pretty dress – say no more. Slay Girl have you covered if you’re looking for a romantic dress for a romantic date.

My favourites are Vicki Cold Shoulder dress – £29.99 and the Floral Lace Open Back Dress (the back details are simply gorgeous) – £25.00

Buys to Beat the January Blues | Fashion Expedition

Will January ever end?! We swear this month has had at least 100 days😩 if you’re feeling the January blues, not to worry – Lauren has picked out some pieces to beat them! You can read her post here or just read on!

BUYS TO BEAT THE JANUARY BLUES WITH SLAY GIRL FASHION

The exciting, festive months are now far behind us and I’m sure most of us can only long for the weather to get milder and for the dark evenings to get shorter. The times of over indulging on food and drink are long over and how many of us have already broken our new years resolutions? I’m pretty sure it’s been January for about three months now. The January Blues are definitely a thing, so here’s some fab fashion buys from Slay Girl Fashion to beat those January Blues.

Adding some colour to your wardrobe will help to lift your mood during these winter months. Black is such a common winter colour and can be so easy to wear, but these pinks are a great way for opting for something lighter, and actually a lot cheerier too. Whilst the ruffle neckline makes the dress perfect for a night out, the lace up skirt could be effortlessly dressed up or down for any occasion. Opt for heeled boots and a bodysuit for an evening look or a loose jumper, tights and flats for a more casual dressed-down appeal. The boots are a great option for transitioning into the Spring months ahead and make such an easy option for dressing up any outfit – perfect for a ‘jeans and nice top’ dress code.

We still have plenty of jumper weather weeks ahead of us and both of these jumpers are made so much more exciting with their less conventional knitwear appeals. Statement sleeves are a great way to add movement to any clothing and the layered ruffles in the grey jumper are a simple way to add fun to any outfit, in fact, this jumper would look great with the lace up skirt for a more casual attire. The crossover of the mustard jumper is an interesting twist to the usual plain neckline, giving the jumper a much more fun fit and shape. Trousers are a great substitute for jeans to make an outfit smarter, or just more alternative. The grey tartan is subtle, making the trousers great for dressing up with blouse or dressing down with a casual tee.

Making Your Money Go Further This January | Robyn Poppy

Welcome back to the blog, baes! January is the time for penny-pinching after an indulgent Christmas, and Robyn is here to save the day with these fab styling tips! You can check out her blog here or just read on…

MAKING YOUR MONEY GO FURTHER THIS JANUARY

Every year January is the time to reflect upon the previous year, set goals, maybe go on a detox and for most of us, it’s a time to tighten our purse strings. I don’t know about you, but this month I’ve been super careful with my money to claw back on Christmas expenses and to account for a 5 week long pay month. For fashion addicts, like myself who still want to keep up with the latest fashion, this can be pretty hard. So, I’ve teamed up with Slaygirlfashion.co.uk to bring you my top 5 picks from their website, which will make the most of your money in January!

1. Nora Puffer Jacket –  £36 with my discount code “robynpoppy”

Puffer jackets have fast become a wardrobe staple and this mint colour is absolutely gorgeous! At £36, this jacket is great value and with the cold British weather you still have time to get lots of wear out of it.

2. Cute AF T-Shirt – £11.20 with my discount code

Slogan t-shirts aren’t showing any signs of shifting in 2018 and are always a firm favourite with me as they are so easy to style and can be worn for so many different occasions! This number from Slay Girl is super cute and a must have for £11.20. If you’re looking to get the most value for your money, you need this in your wardrobe.

3. Brianna Chequered Skirt – £14.40 with my discount code

I think this is possibly my favourite item on the website at the moment! This chequered skirt is right on trend and would look amazing dressed down with trainers or Doc Martens boots. It would also look fab paired with the above top and puffer and make a really cute and affordable outfit. At £14.40 I feel this piece is a steal!

4. Beatrice Faux Fur Jacket – £32 with my discount code

Who doesn’t love a faux fur coat?! And this little number from Slay Girl is perfect for the cold British weather. I feel this could be dressed up or down, and the monochrome colours make it a really ease piece to style. Plus, at £32 it doesn’t break the bank compared to a lot of other similar jackets on the high street!

5. Betsy Jumper Dress – £22.40 with my discount code

I love this jumper dress as it’s such a beautiful colour and can be worn for so many occasions. It would look really cute paired with some over the knee boots for in the day, or with a cute bra-let and heels for drinks out. I’d definitely wear the above jacket with this dress as the colours really complement each other. Finally, I feel that it’s great value for money and would be a perfect transitional piece for going into spring when the weather gets a bit warmer and you want to get your legs out!

And that’s it for my top picks for the month! I hope you’ve found some styling inspiration from this post and discovered some really wearable and affordable pieces to make your money go further! Don’t forget to use my discount code ‘robynpoppy’ for 20% off your cart!

How to stay fashionable and warm in winter – Get Set With Ana

Happy New Year, babes! Let’s make 2018 a great one. To start us off brilliantly, we have chosen an ah-maze-ing gal to write the first of several blog posts this month – Ana from Get Set With Ana! You can find her blog post here or just read on…

How to stay fashionable and warm in winter

Hello everyone! Hope you had a great year and I wish you all the best for the upcoming one! 🙂

Today I will be bringing you some of my favourite winter combinations from Slay Girl that will make you feel like you have absolutely nailed the winter season.

#1 winter chic

This is by far my favourite look that I have created. I combined a white knitted dress, that makes your figure stand out, with a faux fur coat in which I fell in love! I would recommend wearing a simple and elegant black high heel and pink shades (even if there is no sun out).  I would wear this combination when going for a coffee on a sunday morning or when going out to a nice dinner with my most loved ones.

Beatrice Faux Fur Jacket – £40.00

Jada Cold Shoulder Jumper Dress – £30.00

Faux Suede Pointed Strappy Heels – £29.00

Throwing Shade Sunglasses – £14.00

#2 warm & cosy

For this look I chose skinny jeans with pearls which I then combined with a nude sweater with a ‘twist’ on the back. I would complete this look with nude pointed strappy heels. I would personally wear this combination on everyday basis because of its simplicity and elegance while it is keeping you warm.

Katy Twist Jumper – £30.00

Skylar Pearl Skinny Jeans – was £29.99, now just £19 in our January sale!

Faux Suede Pointed Strappy Heels  – £29.00

#3 sun-kissed

This combination is, in my optinion, such a refreshing one. I am absolutely in love with the warm yellow colour and the amazing design of the sweater. I would combine this sweater with a black skirt and pointed heels. This look is elegant and enchanting and I would recommend wearing it for special occasions.

Sammie Crossover Sweater – £26.00

Black Suede Lace-up Skirt – £20.00

Faux Suede Pointed Strappy Heels – £29.00

#4 nude, nude, nude

Don’t you just love nude colours? I am absolutely fascinated with nude colours because they are easily combined with everything and at the same time they look incredibly good. I have matched this asymetrical sweater with a nude skirt and my favourite nude strappy heels. This combination is perfect for any kind of celebration, such as weddings, office/birthday parties, etc.

Rhiannon One-Shoulder Jumper – £28.00

Cross Lace-up Pencil Skirt – £19.99

Faux Suede Pointed Strappy Heels – £29.00

#5 home for the holidays

You know that feeling when you just want to dress up a bit while on holidays, but never do it becuase it is either too cold out to even think about going somewhere or because you are just lazy? Stop it! Be dressed up even if you are just staying in for the night. And for that occasion I have combined a gray cardigan with gray over-the-knee socks and a pink tracksuit, because why not? It is incredibly comfy and stylish at the same time.

Carolyn Smart Cardigan – £29.99

Knee Socks – £9

Pink Casual Two Piece Tracksuit Lounge Set – was £28.00 now just £16.00 in our January sale!

Em’s Wardrobe – Winter Fashion Essentials

It’s almost the end of 2017! Where did the time go?! It’s been a CRAZY and brilliant year for us at Slay Girl Fashion, and we can’t believe how much we’ve grown! So, if you’re here reading this, thanks bae.

Em from Em’s Wardrobe is our December guest blogger and she’s here to help you out with the clothes you NEED this winter!

WINTER FASHION ESSENTIALS

Good news! Slay Girl Fashion has a January sale going on next month which you should keep your eyes peeled for. I’ve selected my 4 favourites from the site that I think are essentials for winter. Hopefully, this post will provide you with inspiration for your next shopping spree on here on Slay Girl Fashion.

Saoirse Casual Trousers – £29.99

Plaids are very on trend for the winter season so I would definitely get my hands on a pair of high wasted plaid trousers. The high waist flatters the female body and elongates your legs. A pair of grey plaid trousers like the ‘Saoire Casual Trousers’ are just a classic and an all year around wardrobe essential.

Beatrice Faux Fur Jacket – £40.00

Just like grey plaids, you can spot faux fur jackets everywhere this winter. The ‘Beatrice Faux Fur jacket’ is just to die for. The colour combination of this jacket gives you so many styling options and at the same time, it keeps you warm and looking very stylish. SCORE!

White Tired T-Shirt – £12.00

Feeling demotivated and tired is completely normal around this time a year. It is winter after all. So why not grab this t-shirt, wear your heart on your sleeve (or in this case: emotions on your t-shirt) and be #relatable

Ava Sequin Dress – £28.00

Last but definitely not least, I just had to mention the ‘Ava Sequin Dress’. There is no reason to not go crazy on sequins, rhinestones and everything sparkly during the party season. I think glitter is an essential throughout winter because who wouldn’t want to add some sparkles to the long, dark winter days?

And those are my winter essentials from Slay Girl Fashion.  Happy shopping!

No matter if you’re going for dinner with bae or out for some cheeky cocktails, this look will make your date speechless!

Sexy in Satin

How gorge is this red satin dress? The draped neckline ensures there’s some cheeky cleavage on show, but don’t worry it sits perfectly so you won’t have to worry about any slips.
(There are adjustable straps on the back to help you get that desired fit)

The fit of this dress is insane! It’s so figure hugging and grabs my waist comfortably… I’ll still have room for some pudding on my date!

I’m in love with the colour of the garment, it instantly says glam luxe… which is just what I was looking for! The pop of red is perfect for the party season that’s approaching… looks like I’ll be getting a few wears out of this one!  Shop:

http://slaygirlfashion.co.uk/product/satin-silk-look-club-dress/

Added extras

This choker is literally INSANE! – I’m obsessed with the glitzy glam that this accessory will bring to the outfit!

Adding this choker to the simplistic satin dress will guarantee to turn heads… not only that but hopefully that sparkle catches your dates eye…

I mean, come on…
Who doesn’t love being draped in diamonds?… I know I do! Shop:

I paired this look with some simplistic black tie-up heels and a very extra faux fur jacket also in black.

After I grabbed myself a cheeky pornstar martini and enjoyed my night…x

What are your thoughts on my date night attire?

Until next time girls,

How to Survive Uni – The Amateur’s Guide to Fashion

The Amateur’s Guide to Fashion is a fashion and lifestyle blog, and this month we’ve been featured! Read tips from Emma (the blogger) on how to survive uni and see how she styles Slay Girl Fashion here

Most importantly – TAKE TIME TO RELAX

Once in a while just take the time to chill. Your body needs some rest from constant partying and working (My personal chill sess involves Netflix and a can of pringles!). Take time to call your parents and your friends to find out their updates and to tell them about yours. My fav fashion items to slouch around in are cute hot pantslike this pink babies from Slay Girl fashion. They are super comfy and are such a lovely soft velvet! But sometimes, all we really need is a nap!

Thanks, Emma, for such a lovely write-up! We’re so glad you’re enjoying your clothes!

Want to get involved? We invite a guest blogger to write for us every single month (this month it was Regan!) It’s a great way to be a part of the brand and get your blog noticed! Email hello@slaygirlfashion.co.uk to apply!

October Blog by Guest Blogger Regan Ellis

Welcome back, girls! Autumn is officially here and we have yet another fantastic blog bursting with style inspiration! We are very lucky to welcome Regan Ellis as our October blogger. See her picks here or just read on!

Slay Girl x Regan: Top October Picks

So the secret is out that I am Slay Girl’s October girl for 2017! And what better way to slay into the autumn season than with my must-haves for the colder weather approaching but adding that Slay Girl style in to the mix. I wanted to share with you show you some of my favourite pieces from their collection and add my own take on the brand.

Now the cold weather is coming in for the U.K (who am I kidding, its cold all year) we want to have stylish clothes that keep us warm and toasty but can still keep us looking classy and ready to be papped whenever. I feel like some of the clothes that Slay Girl have to offer do just that for their consumers and more!

I would say that my type of style and fashion sense is chilled out but stylish, some days it’s jeans, a jumper and trainers but other days it leather jackets and heels topped off with a diamante necklace. I believe that your style is down to how you feel on the day, and some days you feel more glamorous than others.

I wanted to kick off my autumn must-haves with a plain but statement piece. The ‘Red Faux Leather Biker Jacket’ retailing for £35.

On the website the description of the item is a ‘Bold statement jacket in buttery soft material.’

The jacket come in the sizes; S,M,L,XL. I would personally buy an XL due to me being a size 12/14 and preferring my jackets to be a size or two bigger for comfort and for additional layering underneath the garment. The detailing on the jacket is very articulate with buttons, buckles and zips all in silver colouring placed on the jacket for use and effect. I feel like the silver fastenings work a lot better than if there was gold as I feel like silver compliments the burgundy colour of the jacket. I need this in my wardrobe!

The next piece I wanted to share with you that I love is the ‘Burgundy Sexy Diamond Back Velvet Bodycon Dress’ coming in at £22.

The description says; ‘Glamorous and sexy style in sizes Small, Medium, Large, Extra Large.’ I love this piece for more than one reason, for starters WOW! It looks stunning on the model and I feel like it would look great with any silver or diamante jewellery. The burgundy colour extenuates the Autumn feel that we are going for here and brings the warm tones back in that we have been missing like mad!

The simple strap detailing at the back really brings out the pinching figure on the bottom half of the model. This item would be more for going out in the evening but could also be paired with a black biker jacket and heels for a shopping trip or lunch date. Simple but stylish goes a long way. This piece you would have to get the sizing spot on to get the dress to fit you in the right way and in the right places, but when it does it will look fantastic!

The final piece I wanted to share in my autumn favourites are the ‘Nude Kim Stretch Ankle Boots’ retailing at Slay Girl Fashion for £65.

The descrition states ‘a Kim K inspired block heel stretch knit ankle boots.’ This is just what a simple but stylish autumn outfit needs! The cool tones of the boots would match well with the deeper tones of the clothes paired with it to bring a little life into autumn. They come in sizes 3-8 which covers a large spectrum for women which is fab! I love love love these booties!

Well there you have it, those were my top picks for autumn 2017 and if you want to see more of what styles I love you can head over to my social medias below. Also check out all of the collection from Slay Girl in their social media which will also be below. Have a great 2017 and then lets slay into 2018 in style!

SLAYING GOODBYE TO SUMMER 2017 WITH SLAY GIRL FASHION

Did I miss summer this year?! It seems to have flashed before my eyes…. as you will know, Summer is O V E R in the UK (unfortunately)…

But what better way to say goodbye to summer than writing a blog post on Slay Girl Fashion’s BEST Summer bits?!

Slay Girl Fashion certainly lived up to their name, they OFFICIALLY SLAYED Summer!

I’ve picked out my top 5 Summer essentials from Slay Girl Fashion!

5. Lace Denim Shorts

Denim shorts are a summer essential, right? But I always struggle to find denim shorts I actually like and that actually fit. Honestly, short shopping is a fear of mine – I struggle to find the perfect fit as my waist is smaller than my booty (lol). But these are super cute and girly. I love the lace – as you will soon realise, I’m a fan of lace!!! But of course, a summer essential of mine!

4. Brooke Crochet Bikini Two Piece

As if this isn’t the cutest bikini you have ever seen? I absolutely love the detail on this bikini. It is SO different and unique. I have never seen a bikini like this before, which makes it that little bit more special. It is simply stunning! It would be a perfect pick for Marbella or Ibiza!!!

3. Mia Off Shoulder Blouse

What a pretttttty lil top, hey? This literally makes me want to go to the beach.. it gives me those beachy vibes! So unique yet pretty. I am a sucker from crop tops – gimme a crop top and I guarantee I like it! I also LOVE off the shoulder tops.. but I’m kinda fussy! This has the cropped look and the off the shoulder look I love, you literally get the best of both worlds (my inner Hannah Montana is shinning through!)

2. Pink Satin Lounge Set

OH MY GOSH. This has got my name written allllll over it!! Barbie pink (my fav) and satin (love!). This is the cutest set I’ve ever seen.. perfect for chilled summer nights on the terrace in Marbella (ahhhh!!!). To sum it up, it’s a bit of me!!!!!!

1. Alyssa Skirt Set

I genuinely don’t know where to start with cute outfit. I rarely buy yellow outfits, let alone like a yellow outfit!! Summer 2017 has definitely brought the yellow out in me! This gives me Beyonće vibes.. it really reminds me of the Roberto Cavalli dress she wore in her “Hold Up” video! This is stunning and perfect for summer! Everything about it.. is a bit of me!!! This is definitely my favourite (even my boyfriend agrees!) from the Slay Girl Fashion website!

I hope while reading this, you reminisced back to Summer 2017 (or what we have of it) and I would love to know your top 5 favourites from the Slay Girl Fashion site! Let me know what you think or whether you agree with me!

Big love to Slay Girl Fashion for giving me the opportunity to be their Blogger Babe of September – what a dream! X

We would like to say a huge thank you to Robyn for her wonderful words! Would you like to guest blog for Slay Girl Fashion? Email hello@slaygirlfashion.co.uk with your blog info. We’d love to hear from you! See you in October babes x
