Anika May’s Slay Girl Top 5

Is there anything more exciting that finding a new online boutique to obsess over?

I very rarely shop in-store nowadays, I like the idea of being able to shop with a tub of ice cream in my hand and you just can’t do that in regular stores. Over time, a lot more of my items have been from online stores like ASOS, Missguided, Pretty Little Thing and Boohoo. However, they’re really big companies now and I still like the idea of a small boutique that sells the most stylish of pieces.

Slay Girl Fashion is one of those online businesses that develops its designs based on some of the biggest styles with the addition of a positive outlook and an empowering mission. I challenged myself to find my top five favourite items from their collection (it’s not as easy as it sounds) and I’m sharing them today!

1. Angelica Faux Sheepskin Jacket

I love an affordable faux jacket. The trend of these kind of teddy bear jackets arose last winter and I never got to hop on the hype. They look so ridiculously cosy, I had to put this jacket right at the top of my wishlist. When I order from Slay Girl, this jacket will be the first thing in the basket. I like that there a couple of colour options available, but the light brown jacket is my favourite. Jackets like this get me really excited for winter, but I’m not wishing away the sunshine just yet.

2. Blake Floral High Neck Dress

It’s no secret that I’m an enormous dress fan, I absolutely adore them, the more the better. The element that drew me to this dress was the gorgeous blue colour. Like the jacket, there are a couple of colour options but this shade of blue is gorgeous! I don’t have a dress in this colour, so it’s definitely something I want to try. I like the addition of the high neck and belt, it makes this dress perfect for an evening out – I’d pair it with a top knot bun too.

3. Leah Faux Leather Shorts

Just look at these shorts! I’m not a shorts girl at all. The only shorts ever featured on my blog were part of a playsuit, and even then I don’t wear it much. These shorts are faux leather and look so comfortable, I can’t believe I’ve never seen a style like this before. I like the oversized look, and the belt with flared legs emphasise a smaller waist which is always a plus. If there’s a pair of shorts I want to try this summer, it’s this sort of style.

4. Boho Off Shoulder Floral Maxi Dress

Whenever I see the phrase ‘maxi dress’, I immediately think 2009 + neon everything + gladiator sandals. Although it was a cute look back then, it still haunts me now and I have steered away from maxi dresses for a long time. I’m all about the midi now, but when I saw this dress on Slay Girl it managed to slip into the top five. I love the patterns and off-shoulder look, but also the wrap dress look that adds a little something to the outfit, rather than it looking like you’ve just thrown on a bedsheet.

5. Skylar Pearl Skinny Jeans

I have wanted to expand my jean collection for a long time. Kristin Johns, one of my favourite YouTubers has the most awesome collection of jeans, including an embroidered pair and a pearl pair like this one. The “jeans and a nice top” look is a great one, but imagine “pearly jeans and a nice top” – it’s just something extra to the outfit. I would love to rock a pair of jeans like this, because they look stylish without trying, and that’s my favourite type of fashion.

What’s your favourite look? And have you ever shopped with Slay Girl before?

Airport Outfits to get you Holiday ready

Holiday season is just around the corner! Does anybody else get excited about outfit shopping? We are all looking for the best bikinis to give us a beach bum and the best summer stylish shades. But what about the outfits we travel in?

No matter where you are going, travelling on a plane can be extremely uncomfortable, especially if you are not dressed right. But do not worry, Slat Girl Fashion have the perfect clothes for flying in and here are some of my favourites.

01. Pink Casual Two Piece Tracksuit Lounge Set

Say goodbye to those super tight denim skinny jeans and say hello to comfy cotton leggings. Cosy and cute and perfect for travelling in.  Made with stretchy, ribbed material and you couldn’t ask for anything more. These bubblegum pink bottoms with a matching top is the perfect Two Piece for jetting away in. What is great about a Two Piece’s is that you can mix and match the items and create the perfect outfit for you.

02. Satin Bow Slippers

We all know that sliders are the comfiest shoes ever but if Fur Sliders are not your thing, but you still want comfy footwear whilst travelling then these Satin Bow Sliders are for you! Coming in 4 different colours, Pink, Black, Army Green and Champagne, these are certain to go with any outfit!

WHO IS EXCITED FOR GOING ON HOLIDAY? HAVE YOU GOT YOUR AIRPORT OUTFIT READY?

Jeans and a Nice Top: Summer BBQ and Beer Garden Style | Beautiful Bundle of Chaos

Hey squad, welcome to the second guest blog of this month! That’s right – there were just too many great blogging gals to choose from, so we’ve got a lot of blog action coming. Bringing you summer evening style inspiration we have momma Chloe from Beautiful Bundle of Chaos because we all need to know – what does ‘jeans and a nice top’ MEAN?

Summer Evening Style

Do you find that there is no in-between in your wardrobe? Its either the most over the top dresses for nights out or baggy sweats for chilled nights at home.  Then you get invited to a BBQ in the evening and all your friends are wearing ‘jeans and a nice top’, erm may need to get myself a few of those nice tops then!

Even nights in a pub garden need a kind of casual dressy look, nothing too OTT.

Here are some of my hot picks for those summer evening outings from Slay Girl Fashion

  1. Grey Jacket – These jackets are so lightweight and handy for when the evenings start to get a little chilly, they give a nice dressy look to your outfits too.

2. Pearl Skinny Jeans – Jeans don’t get much cuter than this, the pearl detail adds an extra something especially if you decide to pair with a plain top. Has anyone else noticed these pearls seem to be popping up everywhere at the moment!

3. Embroidered Rose Top – I’m completely in love with this little top, it’s so dainty and the embroidery is so on trend right now. Pretty lace up detail at the front in between the roses gives it a really nice feminine look. I would 100% wear this with my favourite pair of jeans and heels or white trainers, depending on the occasion of course.

4. Boho Maxi Dress – You can get this gorgeous dress in White, Pink and Burgundy, with off the shoulder straps and high leg splits it’s easily a great pick for a cheeky garden BBQ.

5. Mixed drinks T-shirt – IF the night involved alcohol then THIS is the perfect top for you. ‘Mixed drinks about feelings’ slogan across the shirt – woah don’t try and say that when your drunk, in beautiful Barbie colours.

It’s time to grab your purses and go spring shopping! Here’s to atleast 15 fabulous outfit ideas that ultimately give you 15 reasons as to why you will want to shop with Slay Girl Fashion this month. And the best thing about these outfits is that they can be worn as you approach and during  summer so…..Let’s get slayin!

01. Ripped Mom Jeans

As always, no girl’s wardrobe is complete without a pair of nice ripped jeans. Perfect for a casual occasion, a besties’ girls night out or casual evening wear, this will be perfect to rock the spring season. Paired with some nude Louboutin heels or Valentinos, and the Chanel or Louis Vuitton casual handbag, the ripped mom jeans will dress you to leave a long-lasting impression on your friends and loved ones.

02. Patchwork Bodycon Dress

So nicely designed and detailed, the patchwork bodycon dress is just one of those pieces you don’t wanna miss having in your closet. Its unique detail makes it easily identified as a signature piece. Perfect for a work setting, a dinner date or a casual occasion as well, this would come in really fashtastic. Its monochromatic look will have it easily spiced by any colour of heels and matching handbag to complete the look.

03. Serena Faux Leather Skirt

Leather outfits always bring up that chic feeling and have a lady look so polished and put together. Paired with almost every kind of top, be it off-shoulder, one-shoulder, embroidered floral tops, just to mention a few, the serena faux leather skirt is no less. Depending on what it is worn with, this skirt would be perfect for a day out, a casual occasion or just a normal, chill out day. The glossy red colour adds that extra dose of colour you’ll want to see in your wardrobe for a long time coming.

04. Beyonce Boy Bye T-Shirt

Ready to say goodbye to winter, get out and girlboss? The Beyonce boy-bye t-shirt is a must have. Casual as it is, it will basically go well with all kinds of outfits; be it a good pair of denim jeans, a bodycon skirt, leather or denim skirt and shorts as well. The black makes it easier to blend with almost all colours as well…get this t-shirt and add it to your collection. The options on pairing it are unlimited.

05. Faux Leather Biker Jacket

It’s not quite the time we want to completely say goodbye to our jackets yet. In it’s neutral sky blue colour, this faux leather biker jacket is one of the many jackets you have to own. With the belted detail added to this jacket, it gives you options to either zip it up for a more official look, or belt up at the bottom for such a relaxed, more casual look. This would be perfect paired with a casual t-shirt and some chino pants, or basically any type of lower wear. A complete look would be spicing it up with a pointy-toed pair of heels. The most amazing thing about shopping at Slay Girl Fashion is that you can get this in a variety of other colours; you can get it in red, pink or yellow as well!

06. Ivy Bodycon Dress

In its inviting nude pink colour, the ivy bodycon dress is another one of the many reasons you should stop over at Slay Girl Fashion and shop with them. The front slit and the added choker detail on the dress makes this impeccable for an evening date, a family dinner, even a wedding go-to outfit! Paired with some nude pink Valentino heels, a neutral make up look and maybe a leather jacket to complete the entire look, this bodycon dress would not only serve to dress you, but it would also seek to connect with your personality style perfectly.

07. Leah Faux Leather Shorts

As earlier said, leather outfits have you looking and feeling chic, and make a lady look so polished and put together. If you feel that the serena faux leather skirt is not for you, no need to worry, Slay Girl Fashion got you covered with this camel-coloured Leah Faux Leather Shorts! This would be a perfect go-to for a day out, and just like leather skirts, there’s a variety of tops you could pair these shorts with as they will look incredible paired with almost any kind of top or upper wear.

08. Madison Ruffle Off-Shoulder Bodysuit

The working ladies definitely have a reason to smile this season as they drop by Slay Girl Fashion for something exclusive to rock at their work places. This elegant Madison Ruffle off-shoulder bodysuit would make jaws literally drop. The ruffle detail on this bodysuit gives it a unique look, not to mention the polished taste of colour. Paired with some white, cream or taupe-coloured pair of jeans or skirts, this is the one piece of clothing that your colleagues will complement all month long.

09. Paige Wrap Top

If you won’t give the Beyonce boy-bye t-shirt a go, then you definitely have to try The Paige Wrap Top. The silky material is guaranteed to keep you warm across various temperature changes, not to mention the wrap-around detail that makes this top all so unique. The mocha colour will also blend well with other neutral-coloured choice of lower wear; be it a black leather skirt, a cream pair of shorts, some grey pants or a taupe-coloured bodycon skirt. The entire look can be completed by draping a denim coat, or any other choice of coat, over your shoulders for that glam, put-together final look.

10. Savannah Halter Dress

Still adding on to your dress collection, the Savannah Halter Dress is another of Slay Girl’s Fashion dress pieces that will delight you to own. Paired with some cute sandals, what other outfit would be better just for those days you want to take a walk along the beach? Better still, its nude brown colour is a complete assurance that this will stay a longer time in your wardrobe as compared to trendy pieces that go out of style after some time. The knotted detail below the cleavage on the dress perfectly adds a bit of sparkle to the dress, just perfect for you.

11. Faux Leather Bustier Bodycon Dress

The last, but not least, of dresses you have to consider purchasing from Slay Girl Fashion is the Faux Leather Bustier Bodycon Dress. While this is in sky-blue, which is one of my favourite colours, it will interest you to know that there’s a variety of other colour options; you could get this in Gold, Light Pink, ScarletWine Red and Black. A perfect curve-hugger, I sure would rock this for an appointment meeting, or an evening out. Paired with Slay Girl Fashion’s own Sky Blue Faux Leather Biker Jacket, and a pair of blue or white heels, this will make an awesome go-to outfit.

12. Embroidered Rose Top

Add some glam to your wardrobe this season by getting this embroidered rose floral top. Prints make all the difference on a plain outfit; be it stripes, animal prints, polka dots or florals. This top is not only a floral, but it has a cute lace-up detail that adds to its unique features. Casual for the occasion, this will go well paired with a pair of denim jeans, or leather or denim shorts or skirts. Florals look good with any body type and personality, hence, a high recommendation that you get this top today at Slay Girl Fashion, and only for a price of £15.00.

13. Belle Velvet Set

Our wardrobes aren’t complete without atleast two sets of two-piece outfits. The first two-piece must have is this Belle Velvet Set. Nude colours, ultimately supposed to be a girl’s second best friend after her pearls of course, should form the foundation of your outfit collection and closet. This two-piece set comes with a skirt and top in a nude-brown colour, and is perfect for a casual occasion; more like a girls day out or a party. Worn with a denim coat to complete the entire look, the sky would be the limit for a fantastic day out.

14. Pink Casual Two Piece Tracksuit

The second two-piece must have is the casual two-piece tracksuit in nude pink. Cosy and cute, this is one of those outfits that a girl dreams about having in her closet, and I couldn’t say more to compliment the ribbed, sweater-like fabric, which most certainly allows some warmth when temperatures drop, as well as body aeration when temperatures are a bit high. Worn with some sporty sneakers, this would go well for a jog or an early morning run, or those just-to-hang-out moments with your pals.

15. Pink Fur Slider Slippers

It’s never really chic without that feel of fur in your closet. That’s why you definitely have to try the Pink Fur Slider Slippers. If pink ain’t your colour, not to worry. Slay Girl Fashion definitely got you covered with some whiteand black, which would go well in absolutely almost all casual outfits. These fur slider slippers would do just for a chill out in the house, or an evening stroll around the neighbourhood. Lose the socks and boots and have a taste of fur. Try them out this season!

These are just some of the few must-haves that Slay Girl Fashion’s Collection has in store for you. For a wider scope of what they have, be sure to check out their website and most specifically, their shop. Don’t hesitate to stop today and make a check-in at their shop, for the most trendy, yet fashionably available signature pieces that will be worth having in your closet! This blog is highly in collaboration with Slay Girl Fashion, and I count myself privileged that they chose me to be their May 2018 blogger. I enjoyed working with them to make this blog post a success.

Spring Fashion Inspiration with Maryam Ahmed

Welcome back, #slaygirlsquad! We’re back with another blogger collaboration, and for April it’s the fabulous Maryam Ahmed, a UK fashion blogger and Masters marketing student! Keep reading for Maryam’s top picks from Slay Girl Fashion to slay your way into Spring!

Hey guys! So, you’re all probably aware (and glad): it’s time to say goodbye to winter and hello to longer, brighter and warmer days – spring is here! Let go of the layers, the puffy jackets and ten thousands wooly hats and scarves you’ve ended up hoarding over these cold months – it’s time to switch up your wardrobe for sunnier and warmer days. Here I’ve put together some of my favourite picks from Slay Girl Fashion to make sure you’re ready to slay this time of year.

Firstly, I know it’s supposed to be warmer during Spring but if you’re in the UK, it’s still a bit nippy this time of year, so keep warm in this Carla Turtleneck Dress. This is perfect for casual daytime looks, as well as for dressing up during an evening out. It’s lovely camel colour is easy to match with a bight pop of colour – maybe some red heels and accessories. Or stick to nudes to give it that elegant sophisticated look – great if you’re going for a mellow spring feel.

Like I said, it can still be quite chilly, especially in the evenings, so wrap up in the Leigh Fluffy Coat. Not only will it keep you warm but the soft hues will compliment your spring style, as pastel colours are so in this season. This coat will look great over a pair of white/black jeans or even a midi/pencil skirt. Don’t limit your options – the colours and detail of this coat will let you pair it with almost anything!

For warmer days, this Mae Gingham Off-Shoulder Dress is perfect for those hot sunny days when you’re looking for a cute but chic look. Pair it with a belt to accentuate your curves or leave it loose for that carefree summertime look. If you’re looking for a more covered look, or if its a bit chilly, pair it with a black or white body top – it still gives it that hip look, without compromising the snazzy cuffed sleeves. What’s better, this dress is only £8 with my discount code ‘maryam20’!

Finally, your wardrobe wouldn’t be complete without a stylish pair of pants – these Saoirse Trousers are perfect to add to your collection for these spring months. Wear them with a pair of trainers, sandals or sliders for that casual day look, or go all out with a pair of heels for a nice evening out. Mix and match your accessories to finish the look 😉

There’s so many more options from Slay Girl’s collection – make sure you check them out to see what they have to offer. Don’t forget to use my discount code ‘maryam20’ to get 20% off your order!

GIRL POWER – International Women’s Day

Hey #slaygirlsquad ! You know what time it is… guest blogger time! This month we’ve teamed up with Georgina Prisadnikova to bring you some girl power! Check out her blog: Georgina’s blog

Hey lovelies! We have reached the third month of the year which brings us International Women’s Day on the 8th March and Mother’s Day on the 11th! March is definitely a female-empowering month. Here I have put together some of my favourite fashion picks to help you ‘run the world’ not only in March, but the rest of the year also.

1. Casual Cute

This is the ‘Becca Lace-Up Back Jumper’ which is available in multiple colours however ‘Autumn Leaves’ (featured above) is my personal preference. This can be worn in cooler weather – styled with a puffy jacket, or on it’s own for the summer. I would wear this with denim jeans, denim shorts or a denim skirt.

2. Sophisticated Style

As seen above, the ‘Carolyn Smart Cardigan’ is a way to up your casual game as well as staying warm. This is calling all girl bosses out there who want to amplify their look. The grey colour suits all clothing that you pair up with it, however there is an alternate ‘Wine Red’ option for anyone who is looking for a pop of colour.

3. Dainty Details

The weather is getting sunnier, and I know some of you reading may be located in warm countries so I thought the ‘Fiona Playsuit’ was perfect to include. The detail on this playsuit is incredible which makes it perfect for a casual or dressy occasion. You can even purchase it in advance so you are ready for the summer. Style with some cute sunnies and you’re good to go!

4. Boho Beauty

The ‘Boho Off Shoulder Floral Maxi Dress’ is the most beautiful spring dress I have come across. This dress is very well designed for windy weather and is perfect to wear both indoors and outdoors with flats or sandals. It is at the top of my wishlist and I have never seen anything like it before, a minimalistic dress which looks very elegant.

5. Shabby Chic

I need a cosy coat like this in my life! A ‘Laura Shaggy Coat’  provides you with all the warmth and quirkiness you need in the seasons changing from winter to spring. Coats like this are very fashionable at the minute and add confidence to your OOTD. I would style this over a casual outfit or a fitted dress, you can mix and match different looks with this edgy-baby-pink coat.

February Blogger Babe Maya in the Melanie Pearl Sweater

Valentine’s Day Slay with What Maya Wears

So it’s officially February and what does that mean? Pancake Day!!! Valentines Day is almost upon us.

Whilst people can be cynical about Valentines day and its commercial agenda, it’s also a chance to show your appreciation for someone special and at the same time, wear a outfit that slays whilst you do so. So if you’re wondering what to do for Valentines/Galentines night ( because it’s 2018 and going for drinks is boring and you can do that any Saturday of the year)…then look no further. And if you’re wondering what to wear on a hot date,  Slay Girl Fashion UK and myself are at your service to bring you plenty of ideas in the form of my favourite pieces from the Slay Girl Fashion UK website.

If you haven’t heard of Slay Girl Fashion UK, they were established in 2016 and bring the hottest styles, inspired by bloggers and celebrities at affordable prices (And if they weren’t affordable enough, if you read on, I have a discount code!). The thing I love about Slay Girl is that they put out a positive message to empower all women and encourage self-love and inclusivity.

So let’s get into it…

Date #1

Take an exercise class together. Hot Yoga is a good shout –  this steamy form of exercise performed in a hot studio (surprisingly enough) that is heated to 40 C not only aids flexibility but the added heat also promotes blood flow AND it gives you a chance to show off that great workout kit. There are some great workout sessions in Central London including Sunrise Yoga at Sky Garden. If that’s not up your street, spots like woods, meadows and river paths are perfect for a romantic stroll.

Outfit #1
If you opt for a romantic stroll, a big coat is necessary. One of my favourites at the moment is the ‘teddy bear’ which I feel like is all over Instagram at the moment and I don’t want to jump onto a trend bandwagon but it looks cosy as! Pair with ripped jeans and Ankle Boots for the effortless chic look!
Date #2
And after you push yourself through the above fitness class, you deserve a treat so why not go for a couples massage? Intimate doesn’t quite cover the experience.  If you’re after a relaxed V-day but strapped for cash, a spa experience can easily be recreated  at home. Candles, rose petals, massage oils, champagne and you’ve got the ultimate spa experience without leaving your own house.
Date #3
Go dancing….Dance skills of a professional dancer on Strictly Come Dancing are not needed, but private dance lessons for Tango, Ballroom or Salsa are a massive step outside most peoples comfort zone.
Outfit #3
I need these trousers in my life! I’m loving stripes at the moment and these button down trousers are simply gorgeous. Pair with a black bodysuit for a night look or a white shirt in the day.
Date #4
Grab your passport and book a short city break away. V-day falls on a Wednesday which isn’t helpful  but there are plenty of options i.e. a couple’s spa retreat or AirBnB to do over the weekend to make up for that.

Outfit #4

Travel checklist – A coloured jacket. Slay Girl’s take on the infamous Zara coloured faux leather jacket (£38) looks just like the original. Get your hands on it here.
Date #5
Create a treasurer hunt. Ever seen the movie ‘Gone Girl’ with Rosamund Pike & Ben Affleck? The extremely messed up film based around Amy’s ‘staged’ disappearance features a annual anniversary scavenger hunt the couple partake in every year. Somewhat cute amongst all the other madness.
Everyone wants to solve a mystery—especially when it involves romance. Start the hunt off with a text message with a simple instruction/clue or riddle  and then when your partner arrives at the first destination hit them with the second clue and so on. End the scavenger hunt at a restaurant, because all great things end with food right? The longer you’ve known your special someone the better as it can get real sentimental but still everyone loves a good game.
Outfit #5
I love a comfy outfit so pairing a jumper with jeans or a skirt is one of my most worn combos. Slay Girl fashion certainly do not have a limited supply of cute jumpers.

My two favourites are the Melanie Pearl Sweater, £28 (which I wore in my most recent Outfit of the Day here) and Lyndsey Ruffle jumper, £26 (because i’ll never get over a ruffled sleeve).

Date #6
Pack an indoor picnic. Because lets be honest, the Great British Weather will never allow you to do this outdoors in February. And if you can’t cook, preparing spread of easy-to-eat foods like cheeses, bread, cured meats is hardly Michelin star effort.

Outfit #6
For effortless and stylish the Cute AF T-shirt paired with Saoirse Casual Trousers is the perfect combination for a sassy and cute AF outfit (as the T-shirt says).

The Trousers
Date #7
Even though I said going for ‘drinks’ is basic, take it up a notch and learn how to make the drinks yourself. Cocktail making allows you to experience new tastes together, discuss what you enjoy and also gives you all the skills to replicate them on girls night.
Outfit #7
Pretty dress – say no more. Slay Girl have you covered if you’re looking for a romantic dress for a romantic date.

My favourites are Vicki Cold Shoulder dress – £29.99 and the Floral Lace Open Back Dress (the back details are simply gorgeous) – £25.00

Buys to Beat the January Blues | Fashion Expedition

Will January ever end?! We swear this month has had at least 100 days😩 if you’re feeling the January blues, not to worry – Lauren has picked out some pieces to beat them! You can read her post here or just read on!

BUYS TO BEAT THE JANUARY BLUES WITH SLAY GIRL FASHION

The exciting, festive months are now far behind us and I’m sure most of us can only long for the weather to get milder and for the dark evenings to get shorter. The times of over indulging on food and drink are long over and how many of us have already broken our new years resolutions? I’m pretty sure it’s been January for about three months now. The January Blues are definitely a thing, so here’s some fab fashion buys from Slay Girl Fashion to beat those January Blues.

Adding some colour to your wardrobe will help to lift your mood during these winter months. Black is such a common winter colour and can be so easy to wear, but these pinks are a great way for opting for something lighter, and actually a lot cheerier too. Whilst the ruffle neckline makes the dress perfect for a night out, the lace up skirt could be effortlessly dressed up or down for any occasion. Opt for heeled boots and a bodysuit for an evening look or a loose jumper, tights and flats for a more casual dressed-down appeal. The boots are a great option for transitioning into the Spring months ahead and make such an easy option for dressing up any outfit – perfect for a ‘jeans and nice top’ dress code.

We still have plenty of jumper weather weeks ahead of us and both of these jumpers are made so much more exciting with their less conventional knitwear appeals. Statement sleeves are a great way to add movement to any clothing and the layered ruffles in the grey jumper are a simple way to add fun to any outfit, in fact, this jumper would look great with the lace up skirt for a more casual attire. The crossover of the mustard jumper is an interesting twist to the usual plain neckline, giving the jumper a much more fun fit and shape. Trousers are a great substitute for jeans to make an outfit smarter, or just more alternative. The grey tartan is subtle, making the trousers great for dressing up with blouse or dressing down with a casual tee.

MAKING YOUR MONEY GO FURTHER THIS JANUARY

Every year January is the time to reflect upon the previous year, set goals, maybe go on a detox and for most of us, it’s a time to tighten our purse strings. I don’t know about you, but this month I’ve been super careful with my money to claw back on Christmas expenses and to account for a 5 week long pay month. For fashion addicts, like myself who still want to keep up with the latest fashion, this can be pretty hard. So, I’ve teamed up with Slaygirlfashion.co.uk to bring you my top 5 picks from their website, which will make the most of your money in January!

1. Nora Puffer Jacket –  £36 with my discount code “robynpoppy”

Puffer jackets have fast become a wardrobe staple and this mint colour is absolutely gorgeous! At £36, this jacket is great value and with the cold British weather you still have time to get lots of wear out of it.

2. Cute AF T-Shirt – £11.20 with my discount code

Slogan t-shirts aren’t showing any signs of shifting in 2018 and are always a firm favourite with me as they are so easy to style and can be worn for so many different occasions! This number from Slay Girl is super cute and a must have for £11.20. If you’re looking to get the most value for your money, you need this in your wardrobe.

3. Brianna Chequered Skirt – £14.40 with my discount code

I think this is possibly my favourite item on the website at the moment! This chequered skirt is right on trend and would look amazing dressed down with trainers or Doc Martens boots. It would also look fab paired with the above top and puffer and make a really cute and affordable outfit. At £14.40 I feel this piece is a steal!

4. Beatrice Faux Fur Jacket – £32 with my discount code

Who doesn’t love a faux fur coat?! And this little number from Slay Girl is perfect for the cold British weather. I feel this could be dressed up or down, and the monochrome colours make it a really ease piece to style. Plus, at £32 it doesn’t break the bank compared to a lot of other similar jackets on the high street!

5. Betsy Jumper Dress – £22.40 with my discount code

I love this jumper dress as it’s such a beautiful colour and can be worn for so many occasions. It would look really cute paired with some over the knee boots for in the day, or with a cute bra-let and heels for drinks out. I’d definitely wear the above jacket with this dress as the colours really complement each other. Finally, I feel that it’s great value for money and would be a perfect transitional piece for going into spring when the weather gets a bit warmer and you want to get your legs out!

And that’s it for my top picks for the month! I hope you’ve found some styling inspiration from this post and discovered some really wearable and affordable pieces to make your money go further! Don’t forget to use my discount code ‘robynpoppy’ for 20% off your cart!
